HART's mission is to empower
Residents and organizations of
Hartford to effectively address
Neighborhood issues.
HART is the oldest existing community
organizing group in New England, representing
neighborhoods on the south side of Hartford.
Founded in 1975, HART has remained focused on
community organizing as a means of increasing
citizen empowerment and participation in events
affecting their lives. HART's reputation for
holding public officials accountable to the
citizens they represent is legendary, winning
them many friends and admirers over the years.
